Aluminium ladders are significantly lighter, easier to carry, extend, and store, and resist rust in humid climates.
Steel ladders can take higher loads and feel more rigid but are heavier and rust-prone without coating.
For home use, aluminium strikes the better balance. Steel makes more sense for heavy industrial use. Welbuilt's telescopic ladders are aluminium for exactly this reason.
